Gates of Liberation: a global art movement, one threshold at a time.A gate is among the oldest human symbols. It marks the line between outside and inside, ordinary and sacred, who we were and who we are becoming. Gates of Liberation makes that threshold monumental and invites people to cross it with intention. Each Gate is co-created with the people of the place where it stands, from their stories, their materials and their imagination. A traveling Caravan of artists and builders arrives by invitation and listens first. The Caravan and the community design the Gate together, many hands raise it over an intensive week, and a ceremony of crossing brings it to life. What remains belongs to the community: the Gate itself, skills shared in both directions, and a local chapter to care for it.Gate by gate, these thresholds form a living mythology. It is one story told in many voices, freely given and held in common. After the first Gate of Liberation opened at Burning Man's Axis Mundi, the next Gate will be raised with the Maasai people in Momella, Tanzania, at the end of November 2026, with Carlito Dalceggio and local artists from Tanzania and Kenya.Your gift helps raise it:

The Gate: materials, tools and the raising

Artists from Tanzania and Kenya, with music, poetry and ceremony

The film and storytelling that carry the crossing onward

Thank you for fueling this moving field of light. ✨All donations are tax-deductible.
